Job Title Fashion Sustainability & Packaging Manager Location George House Employment Type Full time Contract Type Permanent Hours Per Week 37.5 Salary Competitive salary plus benefits Category Health and Safety Closing Date 3 January 2026 As a Fashion Sustainability and Packaging Manager you'll drive the delivery of the Non-Food (George Clothing & General Merchandise) Sustainability strategy, transforming practices to meet ESG commitments and regulatory requirements. You will also bring leadership and transparency to systems, packaging compliance, and brand vision across George and GM. Your Role Deliver sustainability strategy across textiles, home, and packaging. Manage transparency systems to ensure compliance with regulatory and internal standards. Develop packaging strategies aligned with EPR, PPT, CMA, RFID, and Product Passport legislation. Lead guidelines, training, and coaching to ensure compliance and best practice. Curate packaging in line with George Brand vision, balancing cost, capacity, and sustainability. Ensure CMA compliance and governance of sustainability messaging. Validate and improve ESG claims across George and GM. Monitor regulatory changes and advise leadership (“horizon scanning”). Manage sustainability and packaging teams to deliver milestones on cost, compliance, and innovation. Build strong supplier, trading team, and external partner relationships. Oversee RFID management and potential GM implementation. Own packaging website and partner relationships. Skills & Experience Strong knowledge of sustainability in textiles, home products, and packaging materials. Proven ability to lead teams and support trading queries. Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills. Global retail supply base knowledge to mitigate risk. Strong organisational and project management skills. Ability to interpret trends and brief external design partners.
