Facilities Maintenance Technician

Position Summary

Perform facility installations and repairs as needed by department or determined through routine audits including but not limited to carpentry, electrical, mechanical, painting, plumbing (boilers, compactors, air handling unit, etc.) and light construction (walls and floor).

Work with various departments to troubleshoot and resolve issues.

Complete emergency repairs as needed.

Perform inspection but not limited to repairing all buildings doors and loading docks.

Identify existing and potential operational problems and inefficiencies and recommend resolutions.

Participate in the development and implementation of maintenance strategies and departmental objectives.

May perform other related duties as required and/or assigned.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Skills & Requirements:

Must have strong mechanical and basic electrical skills.

Have initiative to complete daily assignments.

Good customer service and technical skills necessary.

Experience with all hand tools and equipment.

Pay close attention to detail.

Collaborate well with a team.

Possesses strong writing and verbal communication skills.

Provide after-hour support and/or weekend emergency service.

Required Qualifications Education & Experience:

High school Diploma required.

Proficient in English.

Up to 3 years of related work experience.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

Physical Requirements:

Regularly lift and/or move objects weighing 10–50 lbs., frequently stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and occasionally sit, climb, or balance.

Vision Requirement:

Ability to adjust and focus.

Work Environment

Subject to environmental conditions with protection from weather, but not necessarily from temperature changes

Activities occur both indoors and outdoors.
