Estimator – Power & Utilities📍 UK (Hybrid / Flexible – ideally NW / Midlands / Yorkshire)💰 Competitive salary + benefitsWe’re supporting a growing power connections business that delivers projects across the UK.They’re looking for an Estimator who’s comfortable building pricing for civil and electrical works in the power networks space — ideally up to 132kV.This isn’t a general construction estimating role.You’ll need to understand how things work in a DNO/IDNO/ICP environment, and be familiar with electrical systems associated with connections, substations and cabling.The roleYou’ll take ownership of pricing — reviewing drawings, pulling together quotations, and helping build tender submissions clearly and accurately.You’ll work closely with internal teams, as well as suppliers and subcontractors, to make sure budget assumptions are realistic and transparent.What you’ll be doingPreparing cost estimates for civil & electrical packages within power projects (substations / cabling / compounds etc.)Reviewing drawings, scope & tender documentsProducing BOQs and breakdownsSourcing/assessing supplier & subcontractor quotesPulling together tender submissions & inclusions/exclusionsAttending pre-bid meetings + client discussions where helpfulUpdating forecasts if design or scope shiftsContributing to risk tracking and complianceSupporting cost handover post-awardMust-haves✔ Experience working within DNO / IDNO / ICP environments✔ Understanding of electrical systems (HV/LV, substations, cabling)✔ Ability to interpret drawings & technical docs✔ Estimating experience — civil and/or electrical✔ Comfortable working with suppliers & internal teams✔ Strong Excel + estimating tools✔ Full UK driving licenceIf you don’t have DNO/IDNO/ICP experience, this won’t be the right fit.Nice to haveExperience with 33–132kV environmentsExposure to substations, OHL/UG cablingRenewables / EPC project experienceFamiliarity with SAP, Oracle or similarBOQ experience across civils & electricalWhy this might appealQuick-growing business with a good cultureFlexible workingMeaningful role with genuine influenceStrong pipeline of work
