Enabling Coordinator – Drive a Greener Future with the @One Alliance Location: Peterborough / Hybrid Who are we? We’re the @one Alliance – a ground-breaking collaboration between Anglian Water and seven industry-leading partners: Balfour Beatty, Barhale, Binnies, MMB, MWH Treatment, Skanska and SWECO. Together, we deliver over half of Anglian Water’s capital investment programme. As we enter AMP8, our most ambitious period yet, we’ll be delivering an even broader range of innovative and environmentally-driven infrastructure projects – from sustainable growth schemes to nature-based solutions like constructed wetlands. We’re now looking for an Enabling Coordinator (internally known as Enabling Lead) to join our multidisciplinary Enabling Team – a role that sits at the heart of shaping projects right from the start. What you’ll be doing: As an Enabling Lead, you will take responsibility for leading the enabling discipline within your allocated programme areas. Working alongside other Enabling Leads, you will identify, assess, and manage environmental and consenting risks across a diverse portfolio of infrastructure and non‑infrastructure projects. Together, you’ll ensure consistency of approach, effective risk management, and smooth delivery across the Alliance. Working from early feasibility through to construction completion, you’ll ensure that all necessary consents, permits and licences are in place – enabling smooth project progression and embedding a “Right First Time” approach. By integrating environmental and planning considerations from the outset, you’ll help reduce risk, minimise delays, and safeguard both project delivery and Anglian Water’s reputation for responsible development. You’ll work closely with design, engineering, and construction teams as well as regulators, land agents, local authorities and environmental specialists. This is a highly collaborative role that combines technical expertise, risk management and stakeholder engagement to deliver lasting positive outcomes. What you’ll bring: We’re looking for someone with both the technical know-how and the ability to influence and build strong relationships. You’ll have: A degree (BSc or MSc) in Geography, Environmental Science, Earth Science or similar (minimum 2:1). Experience using GIS (ArcGIS, QGIS, MapInfo) to analyse and visualise environmental data. Strong organisational and analytical skills, with the ability to translate technical findings into clear advice. Effective written and verbal communication skills, able to engage colleagues, stakeholders, and regulators. A collaborative, proactive mindset – confident working across teams to design out risk and find solutions. Experience in environmental permitting, risk assessments, and coordinating surveys would be an advantage. Our vision and values: At the @one Alliance, we’re not just building infrastructure—we’re shaping a better future.
