Job Title Employment Tax Manager Overview Looking for a challenge in one of the world’s leading airline Groups and a dual FTSE 100 and IBEX 35 listed company? The Group combines airlines in Ireland, the UK and Spain with key non-airline businesses, enabling them to enhance their presence in the aviation market. Purpose of the role This newly created role offers a stimulating and technically challenging opportunity within a large, dynamic organisation. The role requires you to be technically competent and good with people. This role will play a critical part in helping oversee a leading airline group’s employment and expatriate tax matters. This role requires a deep understanding of global tax practices and the ability to navigate and communicate complex tax landscapes within an established risk profile. Accountabilities One of the key functions of this role will be to provide expert advice to the group on global mobility, employment tax and social security matters. General day-to-day work will include, but will not be limited to: Assist the Group Employment Tax Manager with compliance, audits, and advisory work. Provide expert guidance on employment tax, global mobility and social security matters. Conduct regular testing of controls and recommend improvements to manage risk. Advise stakeholders on legislative changes, assess their impact, and develop and implement necessary adjustments to ensure continued compliance. Prepare and file employment tax returns in a timely manner, including STBV, PSA, and share scheme filings, to ensure the Group meets its tax obligations. Maintain proactive, transparent relationships with tax authorities worldwide, working in real-time to resolve issues and uphold compliance. Manage relationships with external advisers, ensuring timely and accurate advice is provided to support business needs. Monitor industry trends and best practices in employment tax, and apply relevant insights to improve internal processes and compliance. Keep the Group Employment Tax Manager regularly informed of all employee tax matters, ensuring visibility and alignment across the team. Required Skills, qualifications & experience Professionally qualified accountant (CA/ACA) or Chartered Tax Adviser (CTA), or equivalent with demonstrable experience in employment and cross-border taxation. A good understanding of UK employment tax matters, ideally in an international context Innovative problem-solving skills, ability to look at a broad range of solutions Strong interpersonal and influencing skills, with high levels of maturity Able to cope under pressure and deliver to tight deadlines High level of integrity Department Tax UK (Shrikant Giri) Reporting to Shrikant Giri Contract type Regular Location Wherever you work within the IAG companies you play a part in connecting people and countries.
