About the Freeths Employment Team The Freeths national Employment Team is led by Rena Magdani who is ranked in Band 1 in Chambers & Partners and is recognised as a Leader in the Field by Chambers and Partners and The Legal 500. The Team comprises over 45 employment specialists across the country. The team provide a specialist employment law and HR advisory service to a range of companies from PLCs to SMEs. This includes advice on disciplinary and grievance matters, unfair dismissal, discrimination, TUPE, whistleblowing, redundancy, restructures and strategic advice to senior management teams and boards. We also advise senior executives and professionals in all aspects of the employment relationship. We have established a reputation for providing timely responses and pragmatic, cost-effective solutions. A number of our highly regarded teams are ranked in the top tier for employment in the Legal 500 and Top Ranked by Chambers & Partners and many of our employment lawyers are ranked as recommended lawyers / leading individuals in these publications. The Manchester Employment team is led by Laura Tracey. In addition to the above Laura has specialist experience of advising on acquisitions and disposals and works closely with the firm’s corporate team to guide businesses, individual shareholders and investors through the employment aspects of transactions. This includes drafting and negotiating on Service Agreements and Settlement Agreements for both corporate clients and senior individuals. Laura is listed as a Recommended Lawyer in The Legal 500 (2025 edition) and is also ranked as a Leading Individual in Chambers & Partners (2026 edition). The role Due to growth in our expanding Manchester office, we are seeking an Associate/Senior Associate/Managing Associate, ideally with 2 years+ PQE, to join our friendly and dynamic team in Manchester. The nature of the work is fast paced, and our clients’ interests are paramount so you must possess and demonstrate an enthusiasm, energy and passion for employment law, have exceptionally strong communication skills and work well in a team.
