We are currently looking for an EMEA Research & Development Senior Subject Matter Expert - Medium Voltage standards & applications in United Kingdom. This role offers a unique opportunity for a senior expert to lead innovation in medium voltage technologies across the EMEA region. The position involves guiding technical projects, developing value propositions, and fostering collaborations with industrial and academic partners. You will serve as a recognized authority in your domain, influencing standards, contributing to research and IP generation, and mentoring project teams. The role combines hands-on technical work with strategic leadership, offering a dynamic environment for professionals who thrive at the intersection of research, development, and applied electrical engineering. Flexible remote work and limited travel across the region allow for a balanced, impactful career. \n Accountabilities: Serve as a domain expert and leader in research, technology development, and demonstration for medium voltage standards and applications Lead projects, ensuring technical flow, milestone tracking, and team coordination while mentoring junior staff Develop technical value propositions and contribute to government and industrial proposals Cultivate business relationships through presentations, ideation events, and external partnerships Engage actively in industry forums, conferences, standard committees (IEC, IEEE, VDE, NEN, CIRED) and author scientific publications and IP disclosures Apply processes, systems, and tools effectively to achieve technical and strategic objectives Requirements: PhD or Master’s in Electrical Engineering or a related field from an accredited institution 10+ years of progressive experience in technology research, development, and design in medium voltage applications Extensive knowledge of distribution grids, electrical infrastructure, IEC standards, and MV assembly products Strong experience in power grid protection & control, substation automation, grid resilience, or grid edge control Hands-on experience with lab/field testing of operational technologies, including protection relays and automation controllers Proven ability to develop research programs and work collaboratively across disciplines Leadership and mentoring experience with excellent communication skills in English (Dutch is optional) Willingness to travel up to 10% within the EMEA region Benefits: Competitive compensation and benefits package Challenging projects in a collaborative, dynamic environment Opportunities for professional growth and internal promotion Ongoing learning and development through structured programs Flexible remote working arrangements Supportive environment prioritizing employee wellbeing, safety, and professional development \n Why Apply Through Jobgether?
