DNS Job Responsibilities: Establish and maintain established policies, procedures, QAPI programs and safety, environmental and infection control standards. Provides direct administrative and technical supervision of nursing functions. Establish performance goals. Provides leadership in planning, organization, evaluation and fiscal management. Collaborate with executive management team in the promotion of Mary Wade’s mission, vision and values statement. Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and promote programs to enhance the resident’s quality of life and healthcare. Assist in the preparation of departmental budgets and allocation of funds based upon a review of department estimates and recommendations. Keeps abreast of legislative/industry updates and trends; makes recommendations and implements as appropriate. Assures compliance with all nursing standards. Recommends establishment or revision of policies and develops organizational structure and standards of performance. Interprets policies and objectives of nursing service to staff. Plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies and procedures, that are necessary for providing quality care. Supervises nursing staff to ensure continual upgrade and improvement in the nursing care of the residents. Participates in the development and implementation of resident care policies and brings resident care problems requiring changes in policy to the attention of the professional policy advisory groups. Assures that a nursing care plan is established for each resident and that this plan is reviewed and modified as needed. Prepare departmental budget. Performs personnel management functions such as establishing personnel qualification requirements, drafting procedure manuals, initiating in-service programs and record and reporting systems. Initiates studies to evaluate effectiveness of nursing services in relation to objectives and costs. Available to work beyond normal working hours and on weekends and holidays when necessary. Scheduled hours may change to meet facility needs. Responsible for the scheduling of daily assignments of duties for nursing staff to assure 24 hour coverage. Responsible for QAPI and quality management program; monitors core measures; promotes team building, staff development and empowerment. Development of a long range plan to unify the nursing function in Boardman, ADC and Skilled facility. Director of Clinical Services Qualifications: Long Term experience preferred but not required Nurse with current CT RN license in good standing Must possess strong nursing, communication and interpersonal skills Supervisor skills and prior experience a plus Detail oriented Quick to advise Administrator as needed Demonstrate a strong work ethic Foster strong working relationships will all staff Communicate clearly with resident, family and staff Qualifications
