The Digital Strategist will bring a background in UI/UX to ICTC’s national marketing and communications team to ensure digital content is presented in ways that engage diverse audiences, improve discoverability, and optimize user experience. This role will primarily manage the assembly and optimization of ICTC’s public-facing website content through its CMS, including collaborating on the development and execution datadashboards, and support the evolution of ICTC’s websites into a unified, innovative, and experiential platform for accessing labour market information and discovering ICTC’s content and programming. The role will also strategize and oversee digital channels that expand reach and deepen engagement with ICTC’s content.
This role is ideal for a creative, ambitious digital communicator with 3-5 years of relevant experience. Fluency in English is required, and bilingual capabilities in French are considered a strong asset.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain website content using the CMS, applying SEO and UI/UX best practices to support an intuitive, accessible, and engaging user experience.
- Work with a technical and non-technical teams to support the development of ICTC’s AI-powered Labour Market Intelligence (LMI) Hub on its website, while supporting the evolution of ICTC’s websites into an innovative Digital Experience Platform that ensures all site content is discoverable, accessible, and structured for multi-format delivery.
- Monitor content performance and user engagement metrics to inform improvements in content strategy, presentation, and audience targeting.
- Troubleshoot and assess content-related issues within the CMS and user interface, working with technical team members and providers to implement solutions that improve content structure, usability, and design.
- Support the conceptualization, design, usability, and audience engagement strategy for dashboards and other tools alongside technical subject matter experts, developers, and stakeholder relationship managers.
- Research, propose, and support the launch of new digital content types, tools, and channels (e.g., AI-generated content, emerging social platforms, multimedia tools) to broaden ICTC’s reach and deepen audience engagement.
- Develop, assemble, and optimize digital content across ICTC’s current websites, social media channels, e-newsletters, and other communication platforms, ensuring accuracy, bilingual consistency, and alignment with messaging priorities.
- Work with project-specific delivery timelines and messaging calendars to coordinate content development, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and quality across all digital touchpoints.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in digital media, marketing, UX design, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3-5 years of experience in digital content strategy, digital marketing, UX-focused content development, or web content management.
- Working knowledge of UI/UX best practices and how they inform digital content presentation and user journeys.
- Hands-on experience with content management systems (Wordpress, Drupal) and good understanding of web design principles.
- Familiarity with SEO, analytics tools (e.g., GA4), and performance measurement.
- Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills across digital platforms.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, collaborate effectively, and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Digital literacy, including O365 and project management software.
- Full professional fluency (reading, writing, speaking) in English is required, with bilingual capabilities in French considered a strong asset.
