About the role The Capability Manager within the Digital and Tech organisation is pivotal in setting our D&T colleagues up for future success, embodying Haleon's key behavior of "Grow Myself and Others." This role focuses on building digital capabilities and fostering a digitally-enabled culture across the organisation. It sits in the Digital & Tech Strategy, Architecture & Capability team. Key responsibilities Represent D&T capability at the Haleon Learning Council and HR L&D forums, acting as the single point of contact to ensure an integrated approach to enterprise learning and skills development. Work with federated teams such as Data & AI, Security, SOX, Engineering and Product to build digital, data, AI and security skills consistently across Haleon. Lead the D&T Capability Framework and Job Family model, providing oversight and supporting job family leads to grow capability in their domains. Establish governance and ways of working to align capability initiatives across teams, avoiding duplication and driving consistency. Ensure flexibility in approach by developing archetypes or tailored models to meet different market and domain maturity levels. Ensure job roles are consistent across D&T to support mobility, workforce planning and clarity of career paths. Build out a centre of excellence with job family leads to share best practice and raise overall maturity. Track capability uplift against Haleon Digital Strategy priorities such as Digital, Data, AI, Agile and Architecture. Define and report on KPIs, providing regular updates to the D&T Leadership Team on progress, gaps and risks. Benchmark D&T capability maturity against industry standards to identify strengths and areas for improvement. Promote a culture of continuous learning and professional growth across D&T, including enabling Communities of Practice. Curate specialist learning journeys with SMEs to ensure relevant and engaging development opportunities. Stay current on digital and AI trends and translate them into practical capability initiatives. Partner with external learning providers to ensure offerings are relevant, value-driven and aligned to Haleon’s capability agenda Qualifications and skills Essential Proven experience in designing and managing capability frameworks and embedding them across large organisations. Strong knowledge of workforce planning, job family structures, and skills gap analysis. Demonstrated ability to influence and partner with senior stakeholders across HR, business units and technology. Strong data and analytical skills, with ability to translate insights into clear reporting and actionable plans. Experience in establishing governance and ways of working across federated teams. Strategic mindset with the ability to balance long-term planning with pragmatic delivery. Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, able to represent D&T at enterprise forums. Preferred Broad Digital & Tech functional knowledge (e.g. product, engineering, data, architecture, cyber). Experience with capability maturity models and industry benchmarking. Familiarity with change management methods and embedding cultural change. Knowledge of blended/hybrid learning delivery methods, platforms, and vendor management.
