The Role
- Assisting fee earners with all aspects of residential and commercial property transactions.
- Opening new files, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring all documentation is up to date.
- Drafting initial letters, forms and standard documents under supervision.
- Liaising with clients, agents, mortgage lenders, and other parties to obtain and relay information.
- Carry out searches from local authorities, environmental and land registry. To review results and communicate findings.
- Managing incoming and outgoing correspondence, including emails, post and telephone calls.
- Preparing contract packs and completion statements.
- Assisting with the exchange of contracts and completion processes.
- Ensuring compliance with anti-money laundering and data protection regulations.
- General administration duties, such as photocopying, canning, filing and data entry.
Person Specification
- Previous experience in a legal or conveyancing environment is desirable but not essential
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Competence in using legal case management systems and Microsoft office applications.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently when required.
- Discretion and professionalism when handling confidential information.
- The ability to be proactive, flexible and adaptable to meet client needs.
- Positive attitude and commitment to providing excellent client service.
- It would be preferred to have a law degree, completion of a recognised paralegal qualification or working towards the SQE.
