SUMMARY The Compounding Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the blending operations within the manufacturing facility. This role ensures accurate preparation of compounds, optimal equipment performance, and adherence to safety, quality, and production standards. The Supervisor provides technical leadership, supports cross-functional collaboration, and drives continuous improvement initiatives to meet operational goals and customer expectations. Base Salary: up to $115,000 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES May include, but are not limited to, the following: Coordinates implementation and execution of all health, safety, and environmental programs to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and company policies Maintains a safe working environment for all employees and ensure that employees follow established safety rules to ensure the goal of zero injuries Provide technical leadership to compounding personnel, including equipment operation, metrics reporting, testing, troubleshooting, and training facilitation Coordinate daily blend strategies to ensure compound volume levels and inventory targets are met Ensure optimum utilization of manpower and equipment to maintain efficient workflow Partner with Maintenance team to ensure all blending equipment is properly maintained and applied Assist with diagnostics and troubleshooting to eliminate potential equipment and process problems Make recommendations on delegation of responsibilities and support the development and training of shift personnel Partner with Quality department to ensure all quality standards, testing protocols, and customer requirements are met Facilitate safety training, conduct incident investigations, and complete all required safety reporting Promote and lead continuous improvement initiatives including 6S, scrap reduction, experimental batch production, and innovation projects Accurately document and maintain reports such as operator logs, silo tracking, batching records, and inventory reports Track and report monthly departmental performance data Support professional development initiatives and encourage growth opportunities for team members Perform additional duties as assigned EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS Degree in Chemical Engineering, or related field an asset Lean Manufacturing, Green Belt Certification required 3+ years of experience in PVC compounding or plastic manufacturing, with supervisory experience preferred Strong understanding of PVC formulations, additives, and processing techniques Proficient in troubleshooting and working with compounding equipment and automated systems Knowledge of safety standards, environmental regulations, and quality systems Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills Forklift certification and familiarity with material handling equipment is an asset Westlake is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
