The team you will join: Sitting in the Purchasing department, our team dedicated to purchasing bears a lot of responsibility in the current market situation. Divided into 3 teams (direct, indirect, and projects), they all work together to source and provide L-Acoustics with the best quality resources at the lowest price within the most reasonable time frame possible. We are looking for a bright commodity buyer to join the direct purchasing team, and to provide resources on the commodities side for our manufacturing process. What you will contribute to: You are responsible for the functional leadership for the assigned commodity, driving standardization on processes and feeding the corporate sourcing strategies. You are responsible for defining and implementing the purchasing strategy for the assigned family. Purchasing strategy definition: Build and implement the purchasing policy for your commodity (target suppliers, strategic suppliers, contracts and framework agreements) Develop Commodity Strategy with main stakeholders, adjust to change, control adherence Build sourcing analysis (internal constraints, external risks, cost analysis, analysis of the supplier market) Define supplier selection criteria, i.e. global footprint, technology, QM… Purchasing strategy implementation: Manage spend according to Purchasing & Commodity strategy Implement a global cost structure evaluation approach for your suppliers Steer the quality/cost/lead time performance of suppliers (performance reviews, audits, action plans) Update data in the ERP and ensure compliance with purchasing processes Continuous improvement of purchasing strategy: Identify savings and cost optimization potentials globally & locally Lead cost saving initiatives, align with stakeholders and drive to implementation Conduct yearly (or regular) negotiations with global & local strategic suppliers Manage contracts & negotiations Market monitoring & updating Key Data: Monitor and analyze market tendencies with focus on prices, suppliers, producers and new technologies Ensure a permanent market watch as well as a monthly reporting of the performance of your activity Update spend data gathering & analysis on influencing spend patterns Monitor & report commodity KPIs (PPV, Weighted Payment, Quality & Delivery Performance) What you will need to succeed: Engineer's degree OR Master of Engineering preferred. Minimum 5 years of experience as a Commodity Buyer. Excellent sense of humility, simplicity and partnership: our vision for our suppliers is long term, it is essential to build good relationships with them A business level English proficiency, associated with a bilingual level of French.
