Job Title Locum Clinical Psychologist (Brain Injury Rehabilitation) Banding Suitable for Band 7 / 8a / 8b – depending on experience Location Nottingham Working Hours Flexible shifts to be discussed; full-time or part-time locum hours available Salary Competitive, DOE – suitable for any banding Role Overview Are you a compassionate, skilled Clinical Psychologist with neuro-rehabilitation expertise? This locum opportunity offers the chance to join a multidisciplinary, specialist team supporting adults with acquired brain injuries, progressive neurological conditions, and complex cognitive or physical needs. Based in Hucknall, Nottingham, the service provides flexible, person-centred care across three inter-connected units with capacity up to 59 beds, therapy facilities including gym, sensory room, adapted hydrotherapy, and links to specialist services like spasticity/BoTox clinics. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to meaningful patient outcomes, delivering assessments, therapy, and support planning in a highly regarded neuro-rehabilitation setting. Responsibilities You will: Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments, contributing to individualised rehabilitation plans Deliver evidence-based interventions (e.g., CBT, neuropsychological rehabilitation) to support cognitive, emotional, and behavioural recovery Collaborate with MDT colleagues—OT, physio, nursing, speech & language therapy—to deliver holistic care Provide staff training, reflective practice sessions, and supervision to psychology assistants Support discharge planning and liaise with external partners (e.g., NHS trusts, community services) Participate in outcome measurement, service audits, and evidence-based practice initiatives Benefits Competitive, DOE locum pay suitable for any banding Flexible working hours to suit your availability On-site specialist facilities: gymnasium, sensory room, hydrotherapy pool, training kitchen Opportunities to work across three units catering to high-dependency, neuro-rehab, and low-dependency patients MDT environment with clinical supervision and professional development Established quality service (rated ‘Good’ by the CQC) Easy access to public transport and free car parking on-site Qualifications & Experience Essential HCPC-registered Clinical Psychologist Experience working within adult neuropsychology or brain injury rehab settings Skilled in psychological assessment, formulation, and intervention Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in an MDT Desirable NHS experience in neurorehab Prior experience with hydrotherapy, BoTox clinics, or complex dependency rehabilitation Interest in service development, audit, or staff training Don’t meet every bullet?
