Clinical and Research Fellow in Trauma and Orthopaedics An employment collaboration between University College London Hospitals and The Princess Grace Hospital, part of HCA Healthcare UK. This is an excellent opportunity for desirably post-MRCS trainees, with previous NHS experience, to undertake research and clinical work under the primary supervision of Professor Fares Haddad. The post is initially for 12 months. Main focus of the role will primarily be in lower limb arthroplasty and sports surgery. There will also be the opportunity to learn the basics of robotic surgery in lower limb arthroplasty. The successful candidates will have the opportunity to undertake clinical and operative work at a registrar level and join trauma lists if this is desirable. Working alongside a dedicated team of Research Fellows and playing an integral role in service delivery, the successful candidates will enjoy a multitude of research opportunities and be expected to produce high-quality research for peer-reviewed publication and national/international meeting presentations. The job has an excellent track record for academic and clinical research with previous Fellows achieving over ten presentations/ publications per year. Our organisation has extensive links to elite sport, offering additional avenues for unique clinical exposure and research themes. The posts are aimed at boosting the candidate’s academic and clinical achievements to secure a place on the national training programme. Still, they can also be used for specialist training in those who have obtained FRCS (Orth). The job plan is flexible and can be tailored according to the candidate’s research/clinical needs.
