At SPL, we turn science into impact. We’re looking for a detail-oriented and customer-focused Client Account Specialist to join our team in Reading, PA. In this role, you’ll serve as a liaison between clients and internal staff, ensuring accurate account setup, timely communication, and the delivery of high-quality results. What You’ll Do

  • Serve as a primary contact for clients, handling  inquiries, requests, and updates via phone, email, and in person;
  • Set up and maintain client accounts in LIMS and  ensure accurate documentation;
  • Coordinate with laboratory, field, and  administrative staff to ensure timely sample submission and reporting;
  • Prepare client quotations, process work orders,  and ensure proper billing;
  • Generate and distribute reports, invoices, and  supporting documentation;
  • Support subcontracting of analyses and  outsourcing processes when needed;
  • Assist sample management staff during high-volume  periods, including chain-of-custody logging and sample intake;
  • Monitor client satisfaction and escalate issues  to management when necessary;
  • Provide backup coverage for teammates during  absences or peak workloads;
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Requirements

   

What Makes You a Great Fit

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in science or business preferred;
  • 2–3 years of experience in client services, account coordination, or administrative support strongly preferred;
  • Previous customer service or administrative support experience with client-facing responsibilities required,      preferably in a laboratory, technical, or professional services setting;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Adobe Acrobat;
  • Experience with LIMS or similar software preferred;
  • Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills;
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Your Schedule and The Fine Print


· Full-time position working Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM OR 8:30 AM to 5 PM 

· Ability to work overtime and outside of scheduled hours, including evenings, as required to meet operational or workload needs.
