CUPE 543.3 Afternoon shift Windsor location Band 5 Posting close date: Oct. 3, 2025 Position Summary The program clerk is responsible for providing clerical support to management and departmental staff. Working in a team based environment, program clerks maintain a high degree of professionalism and diplomacy in dealing with the general public, staff, and outside agencies to ensure maximum customer satisfaction. Hours of work Monday to Friday 12:00pm -8:00pm Position Responsibilities • Receive incoming calls and triaging to appropriate health unit staff or programs • Maintain records (filing, photocopying, faxing, mail, taking minutes, purchase orders, data entry, etc.) • Appointments, meetings, and registration • Assist in coordination of workshops and events • Use of Ministry and program related database (i.e., inputs, updates and maintains data) • Type and proofread correspondence, documents etc. • Track and maintain resource program supply • Revise, create and maintain departmental forms and information sheets • Support team initiatives and activities (i.e., Mass mail outs, assembling kits, etc.) • Upload policies • Provide switchboard/reception relief as required • Provide other clerical duties/coverage as assigned by manager Position Qualifications Education, Training and Experience: • Minimum 1 year post-secondary education in Office Administration, Executive or Medical Office Administration • 1 year clerical experience Other Requirements: • Proficiency with current computer applications (Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet, Outlook) • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team • Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize workloads • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment • Skill and accuracy in data input and typing a variety of forms, documents, etc. • Knowledge of medical terminology is an asset • Ability to learn data management systems • Successful completion of a competency test • A valid Ontario Driver’s Licence, access to a reliable motor vehicle during working hours, as well as 1 million dollars in liability insurance • A satisfactory vulnerable sector police clearance • Ability to meet physical demands of position • TB skin test and immunization policies must be adhered to • Ability to speak a second language considered an asset Band Entry Rate 1st Year 2nd Year 3rd Year 4th Year 5th Year 5 $28.05 $28.93 $29.81 $30.73 $31.68 $32.66 The Windsor-Essex County Health Unit is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
