Job Description: POSITION PURPOSE SUMMARY: The Christmas Kettle Driver is primarily responsible for securing and transporting Christmas Kettle Donations on a daily basis and for interacting in a pleasant way with volunteers and host locations. ACCOUNTABILITIES: Responsible for the daily delivery and pick-up of kettles to/from sites, ensuring the security of donations Coordinates with daytime staff to respond to daily changes in pick up plan. Fosters and maintains positive working relationships with kettle sites, informing the coordinator or Corps Officer of conflicts/issues as they arise Manage inventory and replenish Kettle supplies when low; provide maintenance to Kettles and supplies Performs other duties as assigned. NOTE: Not all incumbents perform all of the duties described above but perform a similar range of duties. CRITICAL RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT: Internal: Community & Family Services team (staff and volunteers), Corps Officers, Kettle Coordinator External: Community Partners, volunteers, store representatives MANAGERIAL/TECHNICAL LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITY: This position reports directly to the_Corps Officer and Kettle Coordinator. e This role works independently (within a team) and does not manage or supervise internal staff but may supervise volunteers. Represent The Salvation Army as directed. FINANCIAL AND MATERIALS MANAGEMENT: Ensure that ministry unit policies and procedures are followed for the safe/secure handling of all monetary donations received and appropriate documentation is maintained. WORKING CONDITIONS: This is a temporary part-time position based on up to 27 hours per week. Some flexibility in scheduling required, some weekend and evening work is required. The Supervisor will set the hours of work and work schedule. Working environment is driving from location to location and returning to the church. May deal with difficult people and verbal abuse. Ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs. This job requires reaching, bending, and stooping frequently, carrying heaw bags, working in a sitting, and standing position for periods of time. Normal hours of work - see below Temporary Part Time: Monday to Saturday, up to 27 hours per week Some afternoon driving and evenings from approximately 5:45pm-8:30pm, fluctuating schedule — flexibility will be required at times November 13, 2025 — December 24, 2025. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS: Education, Qualifications and Certifications: A minimum I-year college diploma or equivalent Alternative combinations of education and experience may be considered Experience and Skilled Knowledge Requirements A minimum of one (1) years' related experience Demonstrated ability to connect with others. Hold a valid Class 5 drivers licence, and provide a copy of a drivers abtract for review and verification that is satisfactory to The Salvation Army, in its sole discrection. A program vehicle will be used for travel Skills and Capabilities: Display competence in developing and maintaining appropriate relationships Attention to detail, problem solving and analytical skills. Comfortable driving at night A team player: ability to work in a compassionate, respectful, and non-judgmental manner Strong sense of integrity and confidentiality with professional ethics and a balanced sense of fairness and flexibility. Communication — strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communications skills. Self-motivated/disciplined; a flexible self-starter with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work effectively with all in a culturally diverse environment Attentive listening skills Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to complete assignments and meet deadlines with minimal supervision Ability to undergo applicable screening and background checks successfully that are satisfactory to The Salvation Army, in its sole discretion (i.e., The Salvation Army Abuse Registry) and provide an original copy of a Background Check with vulnerable sector screening as required Ability and willingness to develop an understanding and support for the mission and purpose of The Salvation Army in Canada and its implications as related to position responsibilities Compensation: The target hiring range for this position is $17.85 to $18.58 with a maximum of $22.29. Placement in the salary range will be based on factors such as market conditions, internal equity, and candidate experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the role.
