$10,000.00 Sign-On Bonus Facility Bladen Hospital Location Elizabethtown, North Carolina Department Occupational Therapy Job Family Allied Health Work Shift Summary Provides occupational therapy services to patients under the supervision of an OT. These services include structured assessments, contributions to OT treatment plan development, treatment, family education, and documentation to increase patients’ functional independence. Major Job Functions The following is a summary of the major essential functions of this job. The incumbent may perform other duties, both major and minor, that are not mentioned below. In addition, specific functions may change from time to time: Collects and reports patient information to assist the OT in determination of treatment needs Provides treatment consistent with current practice standards and with the patient’s established treatment goals Uses diverse teaching strategies to make treatment sessions patient centered and engaging to the patients Effectively uses available information sources to report therapy activities and patient performances Demonstrates knowledge of current clinical techniques to match the needs of patient care assignments and/or program development Promotes growth and development while evaluating performance and maintaining standards of assigned individuals Complies with department and institutional policies and procedures and assists with organizational improvement projects Authorized to have access to medications within their scope of practice Other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications The following qualifications, or equivalents, are the minimum requirements necessary to perform the essential functions of this job: Education and Formal Training: Associate’s degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant or successful completion of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant educational curriculum and the required supervised fieldwork, as determined by the North Carolina Board of Occupational Therapy Current licensure as an Occupational Therapist Assistant in the State of North Carolina Work Experience: None Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required: Professional competency in the delivery of occupational therapy treatment under the direction of an OT, as defined by certification and licensure Strong interpersonal skills Good written and verbal ability Exercises good judgment and problem solving skills Effectively works in a team-oriented environment Comprehensive knowledge and integration of factors involved in patient care such that clinician is considered a resource to others in the department Problem solves in an ethical and effective manner Demonstrates flexibility and teamwork Physical Requirements: Ability to communicate orally, read, write, hear, and visually assess patient status Ability to utilize proper body mechanics when examining or delivering care Ability to transfer and transport patients of various body weight and composition Ability to stand, bend, stoop, lift, turn, twist, sit and walk frequently Ability to demonstrate proper use of and manipulate equipment Required Licenses and Certifications OTA/L - NC Board Of Occupational Therapy Cape Fear Valley Health System is an Equal Opportunity Employer M/F/Disability/Veteran/Sexual Orientation/Gender Identity For exceptional healthcare come to Cape Fear Valley Health where caring employees are committed to integrity, patient-centeredness and excellence throughout the entire healthcare process.
