The Bank Pre-Operative Assessment Nurse will be responsible for the running of a high quality and effective pre-assessment service that provides the highest standards of care, safety and service to patients. We have shifts available Monday–Friday from 08:00 to 16:00 or from 10:00 to 18:00. What makes us different? Working autonomously, completes POA for a caseload of patients, undertaking a targeted history with assessment of past medical, operative and anaesthetic history. Provide specialist clinical advice and support to all Caregivers and encourage best practice. Act as a professional leader and role model in all aspects of work. Undertake and review weight/height/swabs, blood sugar, BMI measurements, ECG, blood results and urinalysis in line with individual patient needs and pathways. Where appropriate, initiates referrals to relevant teams. Identifies patients with specific health issues and undertakes relevant risk scoring where indicated and manages the results. What we need from you? Bachelor’s degree in nursing. Current nursing registration (First Level) through the Nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC) required, with no restrictions to practice. Evidence of recent study in a relevant field. Experience working in the pre-operative setting. Experience in an acute private hospital/OP (Desirable) ILS provider course completed and qualification in required upon hire, or within 3 months of hire. What can we offer you?
