Job Title: Locum Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist Banding: 7 Location: London Start: ASAP Duration: Until 28 March 2025 Rate: £29 £34 Working hours: Monday – Friday, 08:30 – 16:30 We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Locum Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist to join our team in London. This role offers a unique opportunity to provide essential clinical cover for general and cardio thoracic critical care units, as well as input across various acute hospital wards. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in managing a diverse caseload, ensuring the highest standards of care for patients with complex needs. What will your responsibilities be: As a Locum Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist, you will be responsible for providing expert assessment and intervention for patients with dysphagia and communication impairments. You will work autonomously to manage your caseload, delivering specialized care to patients in general and specialist medicine, general surgery, and front door services. Your role will involve working with patients who have tracheostomies and are ventilator dependent, ensuring their communication and swallowing needs are met. Additionally, you will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans, and contribute to the overall improvement of patient outcomes. Qualifications and Experiences: Degree in Speech and Language Therapy Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) Extensive experience in the adult acute setting Highly specialist skills in the management of dysphagia and communication impairments Experience with patients who have tracheostomies and are ventilator dependent Experience/skills in Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing (FEES) is desirable Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team Strong organizational and time management skills Commitment to continuous professional development Why work with Pulse?
