The UK Sector team comprises sub-teams of industry experts covering agrifoods, charities, infrastructure, sustainability, professional services, public sector & education, retail & leisure, technology, healthcare and franchise. Each team manages their respective national sector strategy, working closely with the various UK CMB businesses (Large & Leveraged Corporates, MME, BB & ISB), CMB UK product partners and Structured Finance teams to support origination, sector planning, content and contacts and risk management and external engagement. They support across all products and corporate structures, in conjunction with product partners and provide coverage for HSBC UK clients and their ecosystem and where possible the wider global network including the global sector proposition. We are currently seeking a conscientious and enthusiastic individual to join the UK sector coverage team in the role of Associate Director, covering the Healthcare Sector for a period of 12 months. Your responsibilities will include: Support the sector team in business development, sector planning and deal execution. Support client conversations, which will include preparing and delivering materials and supporting dialogue with existing and new clients and key business introducers (e.g. debt advisers). Supporting origination and business development initiatives and opportunities for financing and all other banking, advisory and markets opportunities. Develop industry knowledge, including idea generation and compilation of thought leadership. This will include drafting the monthly newsletters and sector insight documents for the sector SharePoint. Marketing and events planning, coordinating and delivery of external events, seminars and roundtables across the UK CMB network. Support sector aligned Relationship Managers, coverage teams and Sector Head. Supporting the origination and execution of lending and product partner transactions to existing and new clients, including drafting support statements for WMCR To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements: Strong internal and external communication abilities and interpersonal skills are essential. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple work streams and competing deadlines, with excellent time management, accuracy of delivery and planning and organization skills is essential. Experience of working with and interacting with clients and having strategic client conversations with complex requirements is advantageous. Strong experience of credit, risk management and transactional knowledge is essential. Analytical ability to drive commercial outcomes would be beneficial. An interest in the latest developments in the Healthcare Sector would be an advantage. Experience working in CMB and supporting the needs of commercial banking clients would be beneficial but not essential. Takes initiative and willingness to work independently on projects/workstreams, working across the national CMB network. The base location for this role can be based at 71 Queen Victoria Street, London or Centenary Square, Birmingham with hybrid working available. This is a national team, with an element of travel required throughout the UK for client meetings, It is therefore important that the successful candidate can travel as required.
