Job Details Job Location: Plainfield, WI 54966 Primary Objectives of Position: This position is responsible for assisting in the supervision of crop consulting staff, managing seasonal scouting activities, and advising growers on the management of pests, diseases, and crop nutrition. Additionally, the Assistant Location Manager supports daily operations at the location, including staff coordination and customer relations. This individual will contribute to both agronomic excellence and efficient business management, ensuring smooth operation and high-quality service for all customers. Responsibilities of the Position: In the Field: Supervise summer interns and take part in routine crop scouting activity and soil and tissue sampling. Review scouting reports. Conduct follow up on scout observations. Make crop input recommendations and report to the grower. Serve as the intermediary between the grower and any diagnostic lab testing. Assist with writing Nutrient Management plans. Management & Business Operations: Assist the Location Manager with daily operational oversight, including scheduling, staff coordination, and workflow management. Participate in the hiring, onboarding, and training of summer interns and seasonal employees. Attend industry conferences, educational events, career fairs, and other events to represent the company and promote its services. Help ensure compliance with company safety, environmental, and regulatory standards. Step into leadership duties during the Location Manager’s absence or as delegated. Qualifications Qualifications: Possess a four-year degree in Agronomy, Plant Pathology, Biology, Entomology or other biological science. 1-3 years of leadership/management experience. Ability to lead and mentor interns and other staff members. Be capable and willing to conduct the physical field scouting duties under all weather conditions. Understands the seasonal time and schedule requirements involved in agriculture work. Successfully complete the Wisconsin CCA certification within two years of employment. Be capable and willing to expand their job description and duties.
