Role purpose
The Observability technician ensures the reliability, performance, and visibility of our digital platforms (web and mobile applications).
In the short term, the role is responsible for operating and optimizing our IT Monitoring & Observability platform, Dynatrace, to maintain robust monitoring coverage.
Over the mid-term, the technician will actively support the migration to, potentially, an open-source based solution such as the Grafana stack, contributing to the design and implementation of a modern Observability landscape.
By building metric pipelines, dashboards and alerts that provide actionable insights to technical and business teams, the role directly enhances platform availability, accelerates incident resolution, and ultimately improves the overall customer experience.|
Roles/Responsibilities |
· Monitoring operations
Maintain and optimize Dynatrace dashboards, alerts, and integrations.
Ensure monitoring coverage across critical services, APIs, and user journeys
· Migration & tooling evolution
Contribute to the roadmap for migrating from Dynatrace to Grafana.
Assist in setting up Prometheus exporters, Grafana dashboards, and alerting rules.
Participate in proof-of-concepts and pilot projects for new Observability platforms.
· Collaboration & incident support
Work closely with SREs, developers, and QA to define SLIs/SLOs.
Provide observability data during incident response and postmortems.
Document monitoring standards, runbooks, and best practices.
· Continuous improvement
· Stay current with observability trends (OpenTelemetry, distributed tracing, AIOps).
· Suggest improvements to monitoring coverage, alerting thresholds, and visualization.
Contribute to a culture of reliability and proactive issue detection.|
Location: · Madrid, Spain Language skills: · Fluency in English is required. Must have experience · 1 - 2 years’ experience in Observability/Monitoring related roles. · Understanding of logging, tracing, and metrics collection tools. · Hands-on with Dynatrace APM (dashboards, RUM, alerts, integration.) · Exposure to Open-source observability stack (Ex: Prometheus, Grafana). · Familiarity with cloud-native environments (Kubernetes, containers).
Desirable experience · Basic scripting (Python, Bash, or similar). · Familiarity with Cloudwatch for log management. · Hands-on with OpenTelemetry (OTel) standards for data ingestion. · Knowledge to ITIL framework principles. · Exposure to DevOps workflows and delivery lifecycles. · Dynatrace or other APM certified.
