Finance Assistant Controller Position Requirements, Assistant Controller Position Overview The overall function of a Assistant Controller is to process and manage owner and cottage transactions, accounting related tasks such as reconciliations and reporting and to provide other related accounting support to the Controller. Responsibilities/Accountabilities Primary Responsibilities: Cash Management Complete monthly bank reconciliations Manage monthly preauthorized invoices and payments Manage Moneris accounts and access by head office and resorts. Reconciliations Ensure all sub-ledgers are reconciled to control accounts monthly Ensure all Owner Customer Account revenues have appropriately matched costs and correct cutoff Maintain lists of contents for various accrual accounts monthly Analysis & Reporting Maintain sales & cost of sales accuracy and reporting Maintain various organizational key performance indicators as assigned Maintain book of accounts for various associated entities Secondary Responsibilities Analysis & Reporting Oversee the completion of the cash snapshot and ensure all bank accounts have sufficient funds Timely filing of Governments returns including HST Internal & External Audit Demonstrate sensitivity to properly recorded intercompany transactions, suggesting corrections as needed Assist with maintenance of internal systems & controls Requirements 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred Solid understanding of Financial Statements and ASPE financial reporting BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business-related field CPA is a must Outstanding technology, analytics and management experience required Commitment and abilities to meet critical business deadlines Attention to detail and proven ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement Strong communication and social skills License: Valid Drivers License Great Blue Resorts is committed to employment equity regardless of national or ethnic origin, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, age or disability.
