Benefit Eligible Yes Screening Date 2025-11-15 Job Description Summary The Department of Computer Science and Software Engineering (CSE) invites applications for multiple tenure-track positions at the Assistant or Associate Professor level, beginning in August 2026. Job Description Successful candidates will be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses, develop and sustain a strong research program, mentor students, supervise graduate research, and contribute service to the department, university, and profession. The CSE department is one of the largest at Miami University. It offers Bachelor of Science degrees in Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Software Engineering, and Quantum Computing, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science. A new Bachelor of Science in Artificial Intelligence is currently awaiting state approval. At the graduate level, the Department offers a Master of Science in Computer Science (thesis option), a Master of Computer Science (course-only option), and a Doctor of Philosophy in Computer Science. Minimum Qualifications: Required: Doctorate in computer science, software engineering, computer engineering, cybersecurity, quantum computing or a closely related field (ABD candidates are welcome to apply but all degree requirements must be completed by date of appointment). Doctorate is required by December 31, 2026 for appointment to a second year. Appointment to the rank of Associate Professor requires an established record of high-quality teaching and scholarship/research with a strong prospect for continuation. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to teach undergraduate and graduate courses and to conduct impactful research. Applicants from all areas of Computer Science are encouraged to apply; however, particular emphasis will be placed on those specializing in Quantum Computing, Artificial Intelligence, or Cybersecurity.
