Thank you for your patience during this update Assistant Administrator (Legal Advice Clinic) Assistant Administrator to the Legal Advice Clinic The School of Criminology, Politics and Law, which is one of the Schools that forms the Faculty of Arts, Social Sciences and Education, is seeking to appoint a part-time Assistant Administrator for the Legal Advice Clinic. The Assistant Administrator will be based in the Executive Support team and will deliver a high-quality professional service to the Faculty and School; the role will primarily involve providing support to the Legal Advice Clinic. The successful candidate will work term-time only, for 18.25 hours per week, on a fixed-term contract until 4th June 2026. The salary will be £26,707 (pro rata). The postholder will be expected to: work as part of a team to provide administrative support to staff, students, and senior colleagues be aware of basic principles and practice, and have an understanding of this type of work, gained through on-the-job training work under direct supervision, within existing established routines and procedures. In particular, the ideal candidate will have experience of administrative duties, such as booking appointments, co-ordinating a waiting list, setting up case files and dealing with clients both in-person and by telephone. A confident telephone manner is essential to this role, as you will be responsible for taking information relating to sensitive topics. Additionally, the successful postholder will be able to maintain confidentiality when dealing with clients, students, staff members and practitioners. A good general education, showing clear evidence of literacy and numeracy, will be required, in order to summarise information accurately, and in a well-structured, clear and concise format. Similarly, the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate IT literacy, with an ability to learn new systems and software. Experience of providing a customer-focused service, in a busy environment, is essential, together with the ability to remain calm and courteous.
