Application Deadline: 09/29/2025 Address: 250 Yonge Street Job Family Group: Customer Solutions We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytically driven ALM Analyst to join the insurance investment department in BMO Life Assurance with strong interest in asset and liability management. The successful candidate will support management of asset liability risk and optimize the investment portfolio in line with the insurance liabilities, regulatory requirements, and strategic objective. This role involves conducting quantitative analysis, developing ALM models and contributing to strategic asset allocation and risk management. Key Responsibilities: ALM Analysis Develop, maintain, and enhance ALM process and discount rate models. Build an earning by source analysis for valuation process. Perform duration and cash flow matching analysis to minimize interest rate/convexity and reinvestment risk. Conduct scenario analysis, including dynamic ALM modeling under various interest rate and credit spread scenarios. Investment and Liability Integration Work with investment teams to align asset strategies with liability profiles. Analyze the impact of product guarantees, and embedded derivatives on ALM strategies. Provide input into the Strategic Asset Allocation and Tactical Asset Allocation process to ensure alignment with liability needs. Develop surplus optimization and capital planning from portfolio management perspective. Regulatory and Reporting Prepare ALM reports and dashboards for internal stakeholders, investment committees and regulatory submissions. Identify and monitor key economic risks. Qualifications: Education: Bachelor’s or master’s degree in actuarial science, finance mathematics, statistics or computer science. Progress toward or completion of professional certifications (ASA/FSA, CFA) is an advantage. Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in ALM, actuarial, investment risk, preferred in life insurance or treasury function. Technical skills: Experience with Bloomberg AIM, MARS module is a plus. Proficiency in Python and Strong Excel skills. Experience with Moody’s Analytics. Salary: $94,600.00 - $176,000.00 Pay Type: Salaried The above represents BMO Financial Group’s pay range and type. Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.
