Job Title Fitter/Pump Technician Location Ingersoll Rand – Ilkeston, Derbyshire Job Summary To assemble and test a range of internal gear pumps, used across multiple industries. To be able diagnose reason for failure and rectify. Responsibilities Build a range of gear pumps following internal SW instructions. Test a range of gear pumps using numerous automated test rigs, following SW instructions. Working with the quality engineer and line manager to diagnose faults with customer repairs. Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance tasks of tooling and basic workshop equipment following SW instructions. Maintain accurate records of work performed, logging test data and serial number of pumps, parts used, and time spent. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company procedures. Collaborate with other team members and departments to resolve technical issues. Basic Qualifications and Experience NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent. Proven experience in pump assembly and mechanical fitting. Familiarity with hydraulic systems and mechanical seals. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals. Experience with hand tools, and measuring equipment such as dial indicators, callipers, verniers Key Competencies Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills. Good communication and teamwork abilities. Attention to detail and commitment to quality. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
