Asphalt Plant Operative Location: Wednesbury Salary: Competitive Heidelberg Materials is seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Asphalt Plant Operative to join our team. This is a hands-on role where you’ll be responsible for operating, inspecting, and maintaining our asphalt plant to ensure the production of high-quality materials that meet customer and company standards. Your Responsibilities Operate static and mobile plant machinery safely and efficiently. Plan daily production based on customer requirements and plant capabilities. Carry out start-up and shut-down procedures, optimizing throughput. Conduct thorough inspections and routine maintenance of plant equipment. Operate Front-End Loaders (FELs) and dumpers for material movement and plant feed. Refuel and maintain both static and mobile machinery. Maintain accurate records and report defects or near misses. Support operations at other local sites when required (travel allowance provided if applicable). Key Accountabilities Safe and efficient operation of all plant equipment. Completion of daily inspection sheets and maintenance logs. Timely reporting of faults and issues to site management. Energy-efficient operation of machinery. Adherence to Heidelberg Materials’ safety and operational standards. Good timekeeping and reliability. What We’re Looking For Experience in operating plant machinery (FELs, dumpers, etc.). Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Willingness to travel to nearby sites when needed.
