Job Summary:<\/b>
<\/p>

Seeking Judicial Council of California\-certified ASL interpreters to provide interpretation services either remotely (via MS Teams or a virtual court platform) or in person across various court locations, including during evening court sessions.
<\/p>

 
<\/p>

Key Responsibilities:<\/b>
<\/p>

• Interpret for deaf or hard\-of\-hearing litigants, witnesses, and jurors<\/b> during court proceedings and other court\-related activities.
  <\/li>
• Provide interpretation during:
  <\/li>
• Court hearings
  <\/li>
• Juror orientation, voir dire, jury trials, deliberations, and verdicts
  <\/li>
• Self\-help assistance, document filing, mediation, and other court business
  <\/li>
• Work alongside a Certified Deaf Interpreter (CDI)<\/b> when necessary.
  <\/li>
• Perform simultaneous, consecutive, and sight translation<\/b> as authorized by the Court.
  <\/li>
• Log in to virtual hearings using MS Teams<\/b> on a personal computer when working remotely.
  <\/li>
• Submit Interpreter Services Billing forms<\/b> and Daily Activity Logs<\/b> twice per month.
  <\/li>
• Maintain certification and continuing education<\/b> as required by the Judicial Council of California.

  Qualifications:<\/b>
  <\/p>

  • Must be enrolled on the Judicial Council Master List<\/b> as a credentialed ASL Court Interpreter.
    <\/li>
  • Must have sufficient training, education, and experience<\/b> to perform interpretation duties successfully.
    <\/li>
  • Must adhere to all applicable laws, rules, and regulations<\/b>.
    <\/li>
  • Must maintain certification or registration<\/b>, including completing required continuing education at the contractor’s expense.
