JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Operating Room Readiness- Review daily surgery schedule to align supplies and equipment with case acuity and type. Ensure supplies and equipment are ready-to-use and available. Possess meaningful knowledge of supply and equipment use and operation across all surgical disciplines and anesthesia locations. Communication- Maintain/manage strong working relationships with clients, colleagues, and other key stakeholders. Respond to requests quickly and effectively. Identify and understand customer needs and expectations and meets them. Communicate any relevant information to clients, colleagues, and other key stakeholders. Continuous Improvement- Participate in improving/assuring organizational and/or departmental performance/quality through recommending areas or approaches for improvement activities, performing new procedures, collecting data and/or providing input to department discussions. Anticipate and actively identify and recommend areas for process/system improvement. May work with appropriate personnel to implement agreed upon changes. May participate in the evaluation of improvement initiatives/activities. Clinical Assisting- Work side-by-side with anesthesia provider and assist with intubation/extubation. Includes, but not limited to, creation of and flushing of IV meds, use of fiber optics, U/S images, patient positioning (i.e.- jaw thrust), unwrapping of supplies and putting together parts and pieces (i.e.- proactively selecting correct sized ET tube based on patient size, age/case type, etc.). Supplies, materials, case management and equipment utilized within anesthetizing locations.
