MUFG’s Aviation Finance team provides financial services to Airlines, Operating Lessors, and other aircraft investors and owners, relating to the acquisition, ownership and leasing of aircraft, including but not limited to arranging, financing and distribution of full or limited recourse secured debt instruments. Our award-winning aviation team combines in-depth industry knowledge with solid relationships across the sector. MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE Operate as a member of the GAFO Business Management Team, by providing appropriate support to enable GAFO in their delivery of the financial targets set for its department Support the end-to-end finance operations, financial planning and analysis, whilst ensuing the department operates within budget and is aligned with its strategy KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Financial Management Analyse financial data: spreadsheets and statistical modelling software (Concur/Oracle) Financial Planning and Analysis: Prepare and track budgets for each region (EMEA, APAC and Americas), and forecasts. Analyse financial performance, and provide insights to support management decision-making. Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyse financial statements, interpret data, create financial reports, and presentations to stakeholders, including management and Head Office (Tokyo). Help and support the drive to continuously improve the end-to-end financial management practice Strategic Development As a member of the GAFO Business Management Team, support the Aviation business where necessary, in performing key administrative tasks in an efficient and responsive manner. WORK EXPERIENCE Essential: Previous experience in the overall financial management and control arena, ensuring compliance with corporate governance, legal and regulatory requirements. SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE Functional / Technical Competencies: Essential Excellent IT skills – particularly Excel (advanced level) Sound business and market awareness Experience of working within a financial institution A good level of understanding the internal workings of a bank Excellent numerical skills alongside good, written and verbal communication skills Good problem solving skills A conscientious way of working, ensuring reliability at all times, and a commitment to producing high quality and professional work in a team environment An ability to interact with diverse personalities and with colleagues at varying levels of seniority Education / Qualifications: Essential University degree, or equivalent experience in area of expertise PERSONAL REQUIREMENTS Excellent numerical skills The ability to forecast, plan, prioritize, rank and recognize financial Results driven, with a strong sense of accountability A proactive, motivated approach A structured and logical approach to work Good interpersonal skills The ability to manage large workloads and tight deadlines Excellent attention to detail and accuracy A calm approach, with the ability to perform well in a pressurised environment PERFORMANCE AND DUTIES The role holder will be assessed in accordance with their employing entity’s performance framework and process with relevant input obtained from the dual hatting entity as relevant. As duties and responsibilities change, the job description will be reviewed and amended in consultation with the role holder. The role holder will carry out other duties as are within the scope, spirit and purpose of the role, as requested by their Line Manager or Department Head. MANAGING CONFLICTS OF INTEREST The role holder will have responsibilities for both MUFG Bank and MUFG Securities EMEA plc. The role holder will be required to perform their duties and responsibilities on an entity neutral basis, without favour. The role holder is required to follow regulatory requirements applicable to ensure each business is appropriately supported and to maintain the legal entity integrity of each of MUFG Bank and MUS. Working terms are dictated by functional mandates, the terms of the Dual-Hat Arrangement Agreement in place between MUFG Bank and MUFG Securities EMEA plc and any other relevant agreements entered into between MUFG Bank and MUFG Securities EMEA plc. The role holder will have responsibility for identifying and resolving where there may be a difference or conflict in needs between MUFG Bank and MUFG Securities EMEA plc, escalating to their manager where required.
