Job Details This role is in support of Cencora's wholesale distribution services in Europe operating through our Alliance Healthcare business. The purpose of the role is to be responsible for the development and delivery of the Alphega Pharmacy UK Dispensing & Pharmacy Services strategy and operating plan. Additionally, the role will serve as the recognised Pharmacist ‘Expert’ for Alphega Pharmacy UK members and suppliers, ensuring the setting and enforcement of high healthcare standards. Responsibilities: Dispensing & pharmacy services strategy development: Develop and implement the long-term dispensing & pharmacy services strategy for Alphega Pharmacy UK, to ensure that budgets are met and that there is a clear point of difference versus competitor virtual chains, buying groups and pharmacy support bodies (e.g. NPA, Numark) Gather customer, competitor and market data from external and internal sources, to generate business insights that inform these strategies and plans Monitor/ benchmark competitors closely to identify changing business strategy/ business model trends and take action accordingly Work closely with the Skills-in-Healthcare Professional Services teams to identify pharma services opportunities Dispensing & pharmacy services strategy implementation: Develop, write and deliver training for pharmacy services products that support current and future pharmacy contract requirements in all UK countries Work closely with Alphega Europe Commercial Development team to develop their ideas into pharmacy services fit for the UK market Develop, write and deliver training for dispensing operations best practise and advice for Alphega Pharmacy members, working closely with Head of Alphega Pharmacy UK Member Offer and Engagement to ensure that the Alphega Pharmacy Development Programme training needs are met Develop and write practical professional/regulatory guidance for Alphega Pharmacy members, providing content for weekly, monthly and quarterly communications to agreed marketing deadlines Pharmacist expert: To be the recognised pharmacist expert for Alphega Pharmacy UK in relation to the NHS pharmacy contract in each of the devolved nations Work in store with members to coach and train them, to develop and grow their dispensing & pharmacy services business and representing Alphega Pharmacy UK with key industry opinion formers e.g. pharmacy negotiating bodies, trade press and suppliers Lead and/or participate in internal and external cross functional meetings/initiatives, as briefed by the Head of Alphega Pharmacy UK Member Offer and Engagement and support the Alphega Pharmacy UK Head of Retail at supplier meetings when requested Support the Alphega Pharmacy Dispensary Design Consultant in developing optimum work flow and process best practise to maximise dispensary revenue and productivity and reduce costs for members Coach individual members of the team as directed . Requirements: GPhC registered pharmacist - must have Commercial experience within retail or B2B Proven project management experience Knowledge of independent pharmacy sector: strong understanding of pharmacy operations, dispensing processes, and regulatory requirements Practising Pharmacist - preferred Excellent presentation and communication skills to both small and large groups I.T. literate (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) Excellent influencing skills, up to Board level exposure Demonstrated ability to analyze customer, competitor, and market data to generate actionable insights Experience in training development and delivery Strategic thinking skills Analytical and problem-solving skills Flexibility to travel within the UK This role is a maternity cover position and will be offered on a fixed-term basis.
