About the role We’re looking for an AI Product Engineer to join our team at the intersection of AI systems, product design, and full-stack engineering. You’ll design and ship intelligent, production-ready systems using both the Vercel AI Stack (Next.js AI SDK, AI Gateway) and a robust Python backend built on FastAPI and LangChain. This is a hands-on builder role for engineers who move fast, love prototyping, and thrive where AI meets real-world product. You’ll work across the stack, from MCP servers and AI agents to AI-native interfaces, to create experiences that make working with AI more seamless, powerful, and intuitive. Key responsibilities Build and ship AI-driven product features end-to-end using Next.js AI SDK, AI Gateway, and Python-based APIs. Develop and maintain FastAPI services with Pydantic models, SQLAlchemy ORM, and Dockerized deployments. Implement MCP servers in TypeScript or Python for dynamic context injection and agent orchestration. Collaborate on AI UX and UI components for MCP environments (e.g. mcpui.dev). Design agentic workflows and autonomous AI systems using Vercel AI SDK, LangChain, LangGraph, or similar orchestration frameworks. Integrate with Databricks MLflow, Langfuse, and Braintrust for experiment tracking, LLM evals, and observability. Collaborate with designers and product engineers to build responsive, intelligent interfaces using Tailwind and Shadcn/UI. Maintain high-quality standards with Git, testing (unit, component, Storybook, e2e), and CI/CD best practices. Visualize data and agentic flows using ReGraph, D3.js, or similar libraries. Skills and experience Essential: 3+ years of experience in full-stack engineering and AI development / applied ML. Strong skills in TypeScript, Next.js / React, and Python. Hands-on experience with FastAPI, Pydantic, SQLAlchemy, and Docker. Experience building or extending MCP servers and integrating contextual agents. Proficiency with Vercel AI SDK, LangChain, LangGraph, or related agent orchestration tools. Understanding LLM integration patterns. Solid understanding of testing frameworks and best practices (Vitest, Pytest, Playwright, Storybook). Comfort with Git, version control, and modern DevOps workflows. Familiarity with Vercel Edge Functions, Server Actions, and Next.js App Router. Strong frontend sensibilities, able to design and ship polished, accessible UIs. Desirable: Familiarity with AI observability and evaluation tools (Langfuse, Braintrust, or MLflow). Experience deploying applications on GCP (Cloud Run, GCS, Vertex AI, Pub/Sub). Experience designing AI-native UX patterns and contextual UIs for LLM-powered workflows. Contributions to open-source AI frameworks or SDKs (LangChain, MCP, Vercel AI SDK). Familiarity with multi-agent orchestration, tool use, and planning/memory systems. Knowledge of data visualization frameworks such as ReGraph, D3.js. Interest in AI assurance, ethical AI, and model governance practices.
