As a UniQuest Admissions Manager, you will ensure a smooth and efficient running of our university partners’ admissions operation, taking responsibility for the processing of applications and decision making (or other admissions activities) in accordance with the partners’ requirements, processes and system, ensuring that the team uphold compliance and deliver to expected quality standards in line with SLAs. You will ensure that you deliver an excellent applicant experience at every touch point, each and every time, to support our partners with their enrolment targets. You will be responsible for effectively managing the day-to-day operational workload of the admissions team, leading by example and supporting the team’s development. You will be required to lead meetings and contribute to meetings with both internal and external stakeholders, whilst also producing regular reports with insights and context. Working efficiently and flexibly to ensure that we respond to our partners’ and the sector’s changing needs will be integral to achieving success in this role. Responsible to Head of Admissions Responsible for You may have direct-report responsibility for any of the following roles based in the UK: Senior Admissions Officer Admissions Officer Applicant Support Officer You may also be responsible for the operational workload, training and quality of the above roles based in India and/or the Philippines. To be an effective team member at UniQuest you’re amazing at communication – all kinds and all directions solving problems and using initiative working independently to a high standard prioritising intelligently Key accountabilities • Lead the day-to-day operational delivery of admissions service(s) for designated UniQuest partners, ensuring that workload is managed effectively and delivered within agreed SLAs. • Build, foster and maintain excellent working relationships both internally and with your partner(s) making them love us, ensuring that you communicate regularly and effectively to keep them up-to-date and to work collaboratively and professionally in dealing with and resolving issues. • Producing regular reports and analyses with narrative and insights for your partner(s) • Ensuring that you engage your partner(s) regularly, including meeting with appropriate contacts, reporting on our service delivery and impact, and keep them well informed of any relevant updates (new services, staff changes etc…) • Lead, support and develop the admissions team through coaching, development and training (including partner specific training) to ensure that we deliver a best-in-class and unrivaled set of admissions practitioners to the sector and our partner(s) • Management related duties for your UK direct reports, including but not limited to; training, appraisal, professional development and objective setting, pastoral support, performance management, recruitment, onboarding and offboarding, and one-to-one meetings and supporting the Team Leads (India & Philippines) and Heads of Admissions with similar activities for overseas staff where appropriate • Ensure admissions services are delivered in accordance with our partner(s) processes and policies, to the expected standards and within agreed SLAs. • Ensure an excellent applicant experience at every touch point, each and every time, to support our partners with their enrolment targets • Regular and effective engagement with Team Leads in India and Philippines as required to discuss staff performance, progress and quality, as well as coordination of leave to ensure effective operational delivery of workload • Conduct regular quality reviews of work completed and deliver constructive feedback with guidance and action plans for improvement (where required) • As a member of the Admissions Leadership Team, attend and contribute constructively to meetings (internally and externally) and present where required • Work with initiative and a proactive approach to solving problems, identifying the root cause when they arise, providing solutions to the issue at hand and mitigations for the future and escalating or making others aware as appropriate • Contribute to initiatives and developments within the Admissions Services, being a positive agent for change and continuous improvement • Creating and maintaining up-to-date clear guidance and training materials • From time-to-time, deputise for the Heads of Admissions when appropriate and required • Undertake such other duties as may from time to time be required, either on a short-term or permanent basis where these are commensurate with the level of the role and required by the business as it develops Essential experience, skills and competencies • Experience of working in a higher education institution within an Admissions setting, with 3-5 years admissions experience typically expected • Excellent time management with the ability to manage conflicting priorities and effectively coordinate your work as well as that of a team(s) to ensure that deadlines are met • Comprehensive experience and knowledge of UK Higher Education postgraduate admissions or undergraduate admissions including the UCAS process (business rules, routes & deadlines and confirmation & clearing). At least one area is required, but both is preferred • Knowledge of qualifications and understanding of comparability/equivalencies, either UK or international (both is preferable, but not essential) • Knowledge of fee assessment for any of the UK regions • Knowledge of the compliance requirements for UKVI student route (for at least one study level) • An understanding of the principles of the GDPR and DPA • Line management experience is preferable, but not essential. However, some experience in supervising and/or reviewing the output, quality or accuracy of work of others would be expected • Superb communication skills including an excellent standard of spoken and written English • Experience of producing reports and/or in the provision of data with appropriate analyses and narrative • A positive, can-do attitude and high level of initiative • Ability to perform well under pressure and multi-task • Ability to motivate and inspire others in a remote working environment • Ability to work effectively and respectfully with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds • Ability to deal with difficult issues with tact and sensitivity • High personal standards of achievement • Honest and conscientious • A positive, professional attitude About us Working for UniQuest, part of Keystone Education Group, you can expect to join a rapidly growing company and a team of friendly and experienced professionals across admissions, account management, email marketing, technical solutions and product and partnership teams.
