Young persons Worker Salary: £12.60 per hour Location: Shrewsbury Contract/Hours: Casual – Shifts to be covered will include weekends, evenings, early mornings, and nights. Sessions are offered to families in their own homes, so you will be expected to travel around Shropshire to remote locations. Paid annual leave. A Bit about the Service Currently the service forms part of the short breaks service alongside Bradbury House, we provide time bound early intervention for children aged 0–18 years providing a positive and stimulating experience for children with disabilities. At the heart of our mission is a commitment to recognising the unique needs of each child. We offer tailored needs to support individual families depending on their circumstances and needs. A bit about the role: We are looking for Casual Young Persons Workers to join our dedicated and supportive team. You will provide support to local families. Our team have proven experience in providing Short Break services, support, information and professional advice for young people. How you’ll help to create brighter futures. Working with young people to deliver individual activities, to suit their needs. Providing Domiciliary care, including personal care and administering medications as well as meeting dietary requirements. Engaging with young people and their families. Delivering sessions that explore themes, such as relationships, friendships, keeping safe and many other topics in an age and stage appropriate way. Retaining records, using various IT systems. Working effectively as part of a small team, liaising with colleagues to deliver positive outcomes for families. Let’s talk about you. Are you resilient and have a positive approach to change and challenge? We are looking for someone with a ‘can do’ attitude to join our team. Ideally you will have: A positive approach, providing a fun and safe environment for all the children in our care. Experience of working with young people with learning disabilities. Sound knowledge and understanding of safeguarding practices. Creative, positive, and proactive approach towards work. Confidence to conduct 1-2-1 sessions and group work that support children and young people's emotional health and wellbeing.
