The Opportunity 

Join a team that blends hands-on field experience with technical office work to deliver impactful hydrology and water resources projects. This role offers variety—time outdoors collecting data and collaborating on-site(up to 50% of time during Summer/Fall), combined with analytical and design work in the office to shape sustainable solutions. 

 

Your Impact 

  • Participate in open-channel hydraulic modelling for flood studies, dam breach analyses, tailings dam-breach studies, and hydraulic design. 
  • Conduct site visits to collect and validate field data for model construction and calibration. 
  • Record, process, and analyze hydrological and climate data to inform project decisions. 
  • Contribute to civil engineering design for culverts, conveyance structures, erosion and sediment controls, riverbank stabilization, and stormwater management systems. 
  • Support tender preparation, technical reporting, and proposals for multidisciplinary water resources projects. 
  • Gain experience with tools such as HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, Global Mapper, ArcGIS Pro, and PCSWMM. 

 

The Skills That Set You Apart 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Hydrology, or related field; a Master’s or hydrotechnical background is an asset. 
  • Eligible for EIT registration. 
  • Comfortable working in both field and office environments, with flexibility to adapt to project needs. 
  • Familiarity with hydraulic and hydrological modelling software and GIS tools. 
  • Valid driver’s licence and ability to travel to field sites as required. 
  • Motivated to contribute to projects that protect communities and advance sustainable water management.
