The Role
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and review VAT Returns for clients across multiple industries, including construction, retail, and IT.
Oversee VAT workflows to ensure deadlines are met each month/quarter.
Allocate VAT work to team members and review their output for quality and compliance.
Act as the main point of contact for VAT clients and handle related queries.
Ensure compliance with HMRC regulations and keep up to date with VAT legislation.
Support the wider accounting team with VAT-related insights and training where needed.
Work confidently with various accounting software (Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, FreeAgent, etc.).
About You
Strong practical experience preparing VAT Returns in an accountancy practice environment.
Experience across a range of industries including construction, retail, and IT.
Organised, methodical, and able to manage multiple clients and deadlines.
Excellent communication skills and client relationship management ability.
Capable of working independently and managing a small team.
3+ years of VAT experience in practice.
