Description

As a prospective employee you should have a keen eye for detail, good communication, organisational and importantly data analytical skills. The ability to ensure that the underwriters have accurate and up to date information to assist them in performing their duties are key to this role as is the ability to work in a team environment.



Responsibilities

Provide administrative, technical, and operational support to underwriters, ensuring data accuracy and compliance with internal and regulatory procedures.

 

Underwriting Support:

  • Enter new, renewal, and endorsement business into internal systems.

  • Monitor risk lifecycle and policy conditions.

  • Produce and issue policy documentation.

  • Manage team inboxes and track upcoming renewals.

  • Conduct research to support underwriting decisions.

  • Verify premium and tax calculations.

  • Ensure compliance with standards and quality checks.

  • Track estimated income and declarations on delegated contracts.

  • Share documentation with relevant teams (Delegated Authority, Exposure Management).

 

External Relations:

  • Act as a professional point of contact for brokers, clients, and partners.

  • Prepare and attend meetings, take minutes.

  • Review and validate received documentation (Slips, additional data).

 

Reporting & Operations:

  • Generate regular and ad hoc reports.

  • Monitor premium collection and aged debt.

  • Perform data quality checks and resolve discrepancies.

  • Complete month-end tasks (Lloyd’s reporting, system updates, audit trails).

 

Cross-functional Tasks & Projects:

  • Contribute to system improvements and testing.

  • Collaborate with other teams (claims, finance, compliance…).

  • Support team projects and initiatives.

  • Follow internal policies and attend relevant training.

  • Uphold the principle of Treating Customers Fairly.



Qualifications

Required experience & competencies

  • Strong organizational and time management skills, strong sense of priorities

  • Attention to detail and accuracy in data handling.

  • Good communication skills (written and verbal).

  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint; familiarity with underwriting platforms.

  • Basic understanding of reinsurance principles.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, international environment.

  • Experience in a reinsurance or insurance company, or broker environment.

  • Exposure to underwriting or pricing processes.

  • Multilingual skills (English is mandatory), Spanish, French, or others a plus.

  • Experience working in virtual or cross-functional teams.

  • Highly numerate and analytical

  • Solution-oriented and proactive.

  • Collaborative team player with initiative.

  • English and French (written and spoken)

 

Required Education

  • Master’s degree in Law or Insurance. Knowledge of international programs would be an asset.
