UI/UX Designer Intern

UI/UX Designer Intern Department: R&D Employment Type: Internship Location: Salisbury Description The Focal and Naim mobile app is used to control streaming audio products and wireless headphones. It is available on iOS and Android and is designed and developed in-house. Working in the Research and Development department Mobile Apps team you will assist in app development focusing on user experience and user interface design. Predominately using Figma you will either work on new app features or improving existing features. Firstly working on wireframes then building out the feature and developing the user interface. Using the prototypes you have created you will test the usability of the design. We anticipate the internship will last between 1 and 3 months over the summer of 2026 Key Responsibilities Depending on your background and phase of the project: Work with the design and development team on new app features. Use Figma to design, wireframes and prototype user interfaces. Design UI elements. Test designs on users Work with App developers to implement and test designs. Keep a clear record of the design process and any usability testing undertaken. Skills, Knowledge and Expertise An interest in user interface design and passionate about user experience. Experience with relevant design software such as Figma, Sketch or Adobe Illustrator. Familiar with common iOS and Android design patterns. Interest in music and familiar with different streaming music platforms. Product design, graphic design or similar background or plans to study in this field. Good communication skills, comfortable talking to designers, developers and users.
