About the Role We’re looking for a Tooling Engineer to design and build the tools that enable our autonomy and ML teams to move faster. You’ll work across simulation, visualization, and data infrastructure to improve the way engineers develop, test, and validate autonomy algorithms. This is a highly versatile role combining strong software engineering with a deep understanding of technical users. You’ll own the architecture, development, and deployment of tools that become essential to Harmattan’s core R&D workflow. Responsibilities Build internal tooling for autonomy and ML teams Design and maintain tools for flight simulation, software-in-the-loop (SIL) testing, and data visualization Develop interactive dashboards for telemetry playback, flight trajectory visualization, and sensor data exploration Create dataset management and annotation tools for ML workflows Develop and scale backend infrastructure Build backend services for experiment tracking, data storage, and performance dashboards Support cloud deployment (GCP or equivalent) and ensure seamless integration with CI/CD and data pipelines Establish standards for code quality, testing, and documentation of internal tools Candidate Requirements MSc or BSc in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Robotics, or equivalent professional experience Strong software engineering experience in Python and C++ Experience developing simulation, visualization, or data analysis tools (robotics, aerospace, ML, or automotive) Familiarity with cloud platforms (GCP or AWS) Understanding of CI/CD and internal software delivery practices Communication & Influence: Excellent written and verbal communication in French and English, capable of leading diverse principals – from junior members to senior executives.
