This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Technician – Telematics in the United States.
This role is ideal for a technically skilled and hands-on professional passionate about automotive electronics and vehicle telematics systems. The Technician – Telematics will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting GPS, fleet management, and vehicle performance monitoring systems across a range of vehicles. The position requires travel to client sites and the ability to work independently while ensuring systems are accurate, reliable, and fully integrated with vehicle electronics. Strong problem-solving abilities, technical proficiency, and excellent communication skills are essential. The role offers the opportunity to work remotely while actively engaging with field operations and supporting fleet managers nationwide.
· Install and configure telematics devices, including GPS, wireless communication systems, and vehicle tracking hardware.
· Integrate telematics systems with vehicle onboard diagnostics and electrical systems.
· Perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot hardware or software issues to ensure optimal system performance.
· Calibrate and test installed equipment for functionality and accuracy.
· Maintain detailed records of installations, repairs, and system upgrades.
· Prepare reports on system performance, troubleshooting activities, and client feedback.
· Collaborate with team members and clients to provide guidance and support on telematics systems.
Requirements
· High school diploma or equivalent required; technical diploma or certification in electronics, telecommunications, automotive technology, or related field preferred.
· Previous experience with telematics systems, automotive electronics, GPS technology, or vehicle diagnostics highly desirable.
· Proficiency in reading wiring diagrams, technical manuals, and schematics.
· Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.
· Effective communication skills to interact with clients and team members.
· Physical ability to perform installations and repairs in vehicles, including working in tight spaces and varying positions.
· Willingness to travel to client locations across the U.S.
· Ability to learn new technologies quickly; training available for the right candidates.
