You will need to: be positive and motivated be adaptable and show initiative where needed share the school's vision and ethos have high expectations of both behaviour and pupil outcomes have a strong subject knowledge with relation to the primary curriculum, in particular, Maths and English have GCSE English and Maths at grade C/level 4 or above (or equivalent). Desirable but not essential: the ability to work in a team has experience of working with children in a primary school the ability to take the initiative and adapt work to the child or situation the ability to work both in the classroom and out of the classroom an understanding that children’s behaviour is a form of communication and that unacceptable behaviour has a root cause.
