As a Software Engineer in the BB RCP SW team, your role includes developing and integrating software components for Cloud RAN applications. You will work closely with global teams to design, implement and test software while ensuring high-quality standards and continuous improvement.

Position: Entry level
Start date (tentative): March 2026
Location: On-site in Amadora, Portugal
Education Recommendations: Currently a candidate finishing their M.Sc. degree in Telecommunications, Computer Science, Electrical engineering, or a related field with an accredited school in Portugal



Responsibilities
  • Support the design and implementation of software features, integrating existing components
  • Contribute to platform development activities, including DevOps and CI/CD pipelines, with guidance from the team
  • Participate in software testing activities and help ensure quality standards are met
  • Assist in analyzing and resolving issues, contributing to bug fixes and basic root cause analysis
  • Develop and maintain simple troubleshooting tools (e.g., Python) and support performance improvement initiatives
  • Build foundational knowledge of cellular systems, cloud computing, and software engineering best practices


Qualifications

You have:

  • Proven skills in C++, Golang, or Python for software development and testing
  • Knowledge of Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF) concepts, including Kubernetes
  • Hands-on exposure to Linux environments
  • Understanding of agile development practices and CI/CD workflows

It would be nice if you also had:

  • Hands-on experience in GPU (Graphics Processing Unit) programming and CUDA development would be a great plus*
  • Familiarity with Rust for safe and high-performance development
  • Awareness of telecommunications architecture (e.g., 5G Radio Network)
  • Experience working with open-source platforms and services
