Student Accommodation Advisor (Fixed Term) Application Deadline: 9 January 2026 Department: Student Experience Employment Type: Fixed Term - Full Time Location: Bath, Somerset - Newton Park Compensation: £29,588 - £33,002 / year Description We are currently seeking a Student Accommodation Advisor who will be working as an integral member of the Student Accommodation team responsible for the planning, preparation, implementation and delivery of the annual cycle of student housing activity. (This is a full-time, fixed term contract until January 2027) About the Role The role involves assisting with the allocation and occupancy of halls, providing confidential advice and support to students, and liaising with internal teams, private landlords, and finance colleagues on housing, payments, and compliance matters. You will help maintain and promote the Studentpad housing database, contribute to marketing and social media activity, support events such as Open Days, and deliver presentations to prospective students and parents. The post also includes front-of-house and administrative duties, website updates, and supporting sustainability initiatives, ensuring accommodation services remain efficient, inclusive, and aligned with the University’s strategic objectives. About You Experience of providing customer service and specialist advice Experience of using computerised systems including databases Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work as an effective member of the team An understanding of how Higher Education works and the context in which services within education operate Experience of housing or lettings especially in the education sector For further information on the essential and desirable skills we’re looking for, please refer to the attached Job Description. Additional Information Salary: Grade 5, starting from £29,588 rising to £33,002 per annum The salary range shows the potential maximum pay progression in addition to any annual inflationary increase to your pay. Please note that our default position is to appoint into the lower end of the range, unless there are exceptional circumstances. This is a Fixed Term role, until January 2027 Some out of hours working will be occasionally required, including some evenings and specific weekends during the academic year (for example Open Days, Move in and Move out and Clearing). Opportunities for taking annual leave during the months of August and September will be limited, and leave at other times will need to be assessed across the team so that service provision is not impacted. There may be a requirement to work between the University campuses and Accommodation Sites.
