Structural/Plate Welder

Wood is seeking an experienced Tank Welder to join our team at Wood. As a Tank Welder, you'll play a vital role in our projects, ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety in the fabrication and maintenance of storage tanks for our clients in the energy sector.

.Key Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality welding on various types of storage tanks
• Read and interpret technical drawings and welding symbols
• Conduct pre- and post-weld heat treatments as required
• Perform non-destructive testing to ensure weld integrity
• Adhere to Wood's stringent safety protocols and industry standards
• Work effectively as part of a diverse, global team in challenging environments

Qualifications and Experience

• Valid welding certification 
• NVQ level 3 or Equivalent
• CCSNG Safety Passport
• Pass a Weld Test
• Proficiency in multiple welding techniques, especially those relevant to tank construction
• Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces
• Strong understanding of welding safety practices and procedures
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Physical stamina and ability to work in various weather conditions, be able to pass a medical
