SITE SUPERVISOR – (Shetland) | OCU Group Permanent Role Competitive and flexible package OCU Group is delivering a major Infrastructure Projectin the Shetland Islands, and we are looking for an experienced Site Supervisor to take charge of day-to-day site operations. This role is all about leadership, safety, and coordination. You will be on the ground ensuring that complex civil and electrical works, including cabling under public roads and switching station activities, are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards. You’ll be managing subcontractors, monitoring progress, overseeing quality, and fostering a culture of safety across a small but dedicated team. With the remote location and variable weather conditions, the role requires someone adaptable, proactive, and capable of making decisions that keep the project moving forward. Key Responsibilities Supervise daily site activities and subcontractors Ensure work is carried out safely, to specification, and on schedule Monitor civil and electrical installations, including ducting, trenching, and switch station works Conduct site inspections, quality checks, and safety audits Manage resources, plan manpower, and support workflow efficiency Support incident and near-miss reporting, ensuring corrective actions are implemented Ensure all site inductions and permits are in place Promote a culture of zero harm and teamwork Project Details Supervision of cabling under public roads Two switching stations Overhead line works Civil works, trenching, and reinstatement (excavations up to ~4ft) Remote and challenging environment Preferred Qualifications & Skills Civil or electrical site management experience SMSTS / SSSTS IOSH / NEBOSH (preferred) NRSWA Supervisor (desirable) Confined spaces and deep excavation awareness (beneficial) Working at height appreciation Full UK driving licence (essential) Who We’re Looking For Confident managing subcontractors on site Strong focus on safety, quality, and reporting Able to work in remote and challenging conditions Motivated, proactive, and organised Package Market-competitive remuneration Accommodation and transport provided Full PPE supplied Over time is available Pension and benefits package Opportunity to work on a nationally significant renewable energy project If you’re ready to be part of something exciting with one of the UK’s fastest-growing, PE-backed businesses who have recently expanding internationally - we want to hear from you.
