JOB SUMMARY

 

The purpose of the Site Supervisor role is to positively contribute to the project results through successful coordinated management and execution of multiple tasks in alignment with Installation and Commissioning (I&C) function objectives, priorities and methods.  The job holder operates with a high level of autonomy and collaborates with peers and superiors to operationalize goals and priorities in line with the strategic direction for the project. 

He / she has day to day accountability for the successful delivery of the tasks for which he / she is owner, to achieve time, quality and cost targets, within financial, contractual and health and safety parameters.

 

Extensive travel within EMEA with some travel to other regions (APAC) for site commissioning work.

 

Each project delivered by SPX Flow is led by a Project Manager supported by a project team.         

 

The job holder may be assigned to specific projects, in this project team as:

  • Process Commissioning Engineer (PCE)
  • Commissioning Team Leader (CTL)
  • Site Manager (SM)

 

Specific assignments depend on:

  • The job holder skills set.
  • The size and complexity of the project

 

The job holder is usually assigned when site operations start, if taking a role of IS or SM. He / she is assigned when installation is completed if taking a role of CTL PCE or SM

 

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

 

The job holder complies with SPX Flow project execution processes, methods and tools. 

He / she is accountable for achieving operational effectiveness within agreed time frame.

In his / her role, he / she demonstrates a culture of innovation, high performance, accountability and continuous improvement, aligning efforts in the short and long term to the PM’s strategic goals.

 

 

As Site Manager, you will be accountable for:

 

  • Implementation and compliance with the site EH&S plan
  • Project site plan update
  • SPX team coordination including SPX contractors, in relation with the customer.
  • Administration of SPX suppliers on site
  • Communication on site
  • Project documentation management on site
  • Weekly reporting to the Project Manager and the Lead Engineer

 

The Site Manager has overall accountability and is answerable for all SPX activities on his / her site.

He / she is accountable for the safe and efficient execution of works on site whoever, SPX employees or contractors are in charge, according to the project general and specific technical and contractual documentation.

He / she ensures that his / her team is always working with the required and up to date documentation, tools and PPE.

He / she is required to keep within the site timescale and budget of the project and to manage any delays or problems encountered on site.

He / she is to coordinate and manage communications between all parties involved in the on-site execution of the project.

 

It includes:

 

  • The customer
  • SPX employees
  • SPX sub-contractors

 

He / she is accountable for the accounting of and for managing all materials supplied by SPX.

He / she manages quality control.

He / she is accountable for the maintenance of the H&S folder and for the safety checks.

 

The Site Manager is required to organize and lead a daily meeting where all the parties involved in the project must attend. A daily meeting report must be updated every day with daily information in regard to:

 

  • Works organization and management of co-activity
  • Safety conditions

 

He / she ensures that a visits register is always available where all the persons visiting the site must be registered when entering and leaving site. He ensures that visitors and site team members have a suitable induction before entering the site.

He / she proceeds with weekly site reviews and sends a report to the Project Manager, the Process Engineer and to the I&C local manager he / she relates to.

The Site Manager is required to attend any regular meetings with the customer in accordance with specific agreements with the PM and his customer counterpart. 

 

 

 

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/ REQUIREMENTS

 

  • Graduate (Advance towards Engineering Discipline, Food Technology, Dairy Technology)
  • Minimum 4 Years experience, in Process Engineering or Commissioning roles.
  • Travel in APAC region with a willingness to Globally.
  • 80% Travel
  • English: Speak and write.

Food Industry

Having previous and strong experience in engineering (design and / or construction and/or commissioning) food processes (wet, liquid and/or dry).

Project risk and issue management

Anticipating, identifying, assessing and addressing potential or actual events and items that may impact positively or negatively on project delivery or benefits realization

Progress monitoring and reporting

Reviewing and reporting on all aspects of project progress through the timely and accurate collection, maintenance and dissemination of project information to stakeholders


Project review and evaluation

Conducting regular reviews to check project progress and evaluate achievement

Project health, safety and environmental focus

Determining and applying SPX and statutory standards and methods to minimize the likelihood of accidents, injuries and environment impact, both during the project and during the operation of its deliverables

Project scope and change management

Defining and validating his /her deliverables and work to produce them.  Managing and responding to requests for changes to project in a structured and controlled manner. 

 

SITE MANAGER SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

 

 

Written and verbal communication (Including English)

Leading daily site meetings, organizing his / her teams. Attending internal conference calls and customer meeting. Representing the Project Manager, reporting to him and other project stakeholders in a structured manner.  Familiar with MS office suite.

Leadership / Team management

Managing teams and securing resources needs to activities so that the project is delivered within scope, cost and timescales.

Planning and scheduling

Using information about activities and deliverables to understand and even discuss the overall duration of his / her task(s). Using MS Project.
