YOUR ROLE AND RESPONSABILITIES: - You will join the Group Risk Management Property & Casualty (GRM P&C) which deals with the most technical and actuarial challenges of a leading international insurance company. GRM brings together high level and multidisciplinary staff with engineers, actuaries, data scientists, PhDs and financials split between Paris, Hong Kong, Zürich and Madrid. Its main missions are focused on the following key areas: Analyze, model and aggregate the Group’s risks (notably through economic capital) Define and implement the process enabling to secure the undertaken risks (risk appetite, assets accumulation, longevity, natural catastrophe) Develop and maintain models and tools in an efficient and strong IT ecosystem to industrialize the production chain Optimize the Group protections (reinsurance, securitization, hedging, etc.) to meet the desired strategy Within this Department, you will be part of the Group P&C Risk Management Natural Catastrophe and Reinsurance team which is organized in two excellence centers: (i) Data Analytics and Accumulation Management and (ii) Nat CAT R&D and Reinsurance modelling. As part of AXA’s Internal Model under the Solvency II framework, the CAT and Reinsurance team are primarily in charge of delivering the annual CAT and Reinsurance modeling process, consisting of: Collecting all CAT exposure data on a per-entity and per-location basis Assessing the risk on a per-entity and per-peril basis (cyclones, earthquakes, floods, hailstorms, wildfires, …) which feeds the whole AXA value chain at both entity and group level (reinsurance strategy, capital, underwriting, …) Model property reinsurance structure, estimate the efficiency of the Group Reinsurance covers and manage the Nat CAT Risk Appetite Framework Developing in-house models, methodologies and applications to support the Nat CAT risk management strategy and support internal needs of various stakeholders. Your job and daily missions: As a junior Modeler, your primary role is to develop and maintain advanced windstorm risk models in various geographies with a clear focus on Extra Tropical Cyclone phenomena in Europe. The activities of the junior windstorm Modeler are the followings: Contributing to the development and evolution of windstorms models assets (hazard model/vulnerability module, storm-surge component) Working on windstorm post event claims analytics to evaluate model performance (strengths & gaps) and improve modeling Conducting various analysis for management regarding windstorm related risks Contributing to the live CAT Event response for windstorm risks and underlying automation of the report Contributing to the research and innovation around windstorm modeling activities Providing recurrent training and presentations on windstorms risk and models to AXA’s entities and various stakeholders at Group level The position will also offer the possibility to contribute to transverse P&C risk management and various modeling activities.
